Christmas cakes made in Banaras will go to Jordan, Australia and Nepal. Various types of cakes including European ones are being prepared in the bakery factory. About 50 kg cakes will be sent from Kashi this week. Orders for the special cakes made here have come from Purvanchal and also from cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Goa. This time on Christmas, more than 300 quintal cakes will be cut in Kashi.

Especially in the Christian community, European cakes are cut on Christmas. The responsibility of preparing cakes especially for Christmas mainly rests with four bakeries in the city. They have been doing this work for the last generations. They have bakeries in Kachari, Sadar Bazar, Chowkaghat, Sundarpur.

Mohammad Shah Alam alias Kajju, Farid Rehman alias Kajju, the operators of the bakery located in Sadar Bazar, said that the flavors of Christmas cake are different. That’s why people living abroad order cakes from here. This time cakes will be sent to Jordan, Australia and Nepal. These days, five to 10 quintals of cakes are being prepared every day in his bakery. Walnut, rum and dryfruit cakes are mostly in demand. Apart from this, chocolate and vanilla flavors are also sold.
